Advanced Typography/Task 2

LECTURE

Lectures are done in Task 1

INTRODUCTION

Task 2 (A) Key Artwork

Ideation and sketches

Instruction:

For this task we need to create an artwork using our own name.

-Exploring and combining more combinations and arrangements of letters, the final design should not be complicated and confusing for the key art.

-This key artwork will then be used in the Task 2(B)Collateral

Ideas:

For this creative project, I crafted a unique logo design using diamonds as inspiration, using my initials ‘SONG’. This logo is a visual expression of elegance and sophistication, perfectly blending elements of my name with the timeless beauty of diamonds.

I scroll through Pinterest to look for some references.

I created several different versions of the logo using Adobe Illustrator

Figure 1.2: Idea sketches for my key artwork

The feedback Mr. Vinod gave me was to continue the work using the first logo in the draft, but without highlighting the elements of diamonds. Mr. Vinod suggested that I add some star-like patterns.

I followed the advice given to me by Mr.Vinod and continued working in adobe Illustrator

Apply a color palette consisting of dark, light, and transitional colors according to Mr. Vinod's requirements.

Instagram Layout

Figure:2.7 Instagram Layout

I simulated the nine-square grid layout published by Instagram in Illustrator, but it looked too regular and I was not satisfied.

I re-adjusted the layout and changed the size and position of the artwork. Mr. Vinod also agreed with my modifications and thought this layout was more artistic.

Feedback

Week5: Absent
week6: Mr. Viond suggested that I change the color palette because there was something wrong with the color palette of the color card I chose before. There should be one dark color and one light color in the color card, and the rest are intermediate colors. Then Mr. Viond suggested that I explore a few more prototypes.
week 7:The layout of the poster is too neat and lacks a sense of design. Try replacing unused layouts to bring new visual effects.

Information Design - Project 1

26.1.2023 - 23.2.2023 (Week 3 - Week 7) Song Yang (0355576) Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media  Information Design Instructable Infographic poster & Motion graphic INSTRUCTIONS For this project, we were assigned to create a teachable poster infographic and an animated infographic video from a video recipe, explaining how to cook/bake our chosen dishes from the Pasta Grandma YouTube channel. I started this project by binge-watching multiple videos from the pasta Granny and decided to make this video on how to make flake bread. Flatbread is found all over Italy, and Enrica shares her recipe for "crostoli" (it's plural and singular is crostolo) here. Lard is a key ingredient, and the way it's made makes delicious pancakes.
